In the independent music community today, there are few performers that elegantly harness prowess, passion, and intensity better than Rockin’ Piano Sam. An energetic piano pounder and vocalist, Sam was raised on a healthy diet of Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, and boogie woogie legends the likes of Albert Ammons and Pete Johnson, all of which influenced his signature foot-stompin’ style. Though Rockin’ Piano Sam had a few years of piano lessons, he learned his craft by ear, studying a slew of remarkably talented performers he aspired to join the ranks of one day. His career in the music industry is now long and eclectic, having performed live with dozens of acts including Hayden Thompson, Huelyn Duvall, James Van Eaton, Barrence Whitfield, Cherry Casino and the Gamblers, Wildfire Willie, Scotty Baker and Mack Stevens. In the studio, Sam has proven equally versatile, offering his skills both as a session musician for others and the lead talent of the Blue Ribbon Four, member of The Jameson’s Gentlemen and member of the Sun and Lightning Show, he has also performed with the Italian outfit The Don Diego Trio. Rockin’ Piano Sam’s wholly authentic and unforgettable take on rockabilly and honky tonk is quite unlike anything else in the 50’s Rock n Roll scene today. His dynamic performances get crowds moving, foot-stompin’ the night away at each and every show.
